The PipeSmith Difference -
Historically, tobacco pipes have been evaluated, judged, graded, and categorized based primarily on wood quality and workmanship of the craftsman in creating a smoking device that is pleasing to the eye. If the bowl/ body has any filler (and how much), grain structure and other features of the wood and how each are used in the pipe design, how closely the shaping represents a respective "standard", how well any adornment (such as rustication) is executed on the pipe/ how well it suits the pipe / if adornment is to cover a flaw, fitment of the stem into the shank, etc. are all typically evaluated as primary factors, with secondary attention paid to how well the pipe may actually smoke.
Since inception, PipeSmith has been committed to establishing the E-Pipe as "THE" pipe of the future, and in order for PipeSmith to become the go-to staple in this new genre - we've held the belief that this new platform must meet a new standard. The E-pipe must have the reasonable size to house a battery, as well as the associated hardware necessary to complete the circuit to fire the atomizer, means to safely complete this circuit, and means of attaching an atomizer in an efficient and stable manner. Once these parameters are satisfied, then design of the particular pipe body could ensue in order to create a user-friendly and handsome packaging of all these, and to design such that would be comfortable for the user to hold, intuitive for them to use, and durable/ rugged enough that the user would never hesitate to carry the pipe along on their daily travels - wherever the place or whatever the environment those travels may take them.
In the constant pursuit to meet and even exceed our own self-imposed parameters, current PipeSmith platforms are the culmination of four (4) years of research, design, and testing in order to determine the best fire kit components, fire kit composition and construction, proper ergonomics to allow the pipe to sit in the users hand for comfortable firing while offsetting the additional weight and resulting leverage of the e-pipe, comfortable, yet intuitive means of creating the push-to-fire action, and the best geometry for pipe body design that also increases the inherent rugged and durable nature of the pipe. The result is a platform designed from the ground up to operate flawlessly as an E-Pipe, as well as the world's first truly ergonomically designed pipe platform.
During this, pipe bodies have been dropped from varying heights and onto varying surfaces, kicked, thrown, buried in snow, dropped into water, intentionally covered in sand/ sawdust/ other gritty and/ or dusty contaminants, and exceptional amounts of lateral stresses applied to the shank. Once each testing evolution was completed, the pipe was expected to work - without question - at elevation in the Colorado mountains, as well as in the Plains and high mountain desert. The lessons learned through the continual testing and evaluation, as well as via the invaluable real-word feedback from users around the globe, has led to the development of e-pipe platforms that are not only uniquely constructed and shaped, but also a vaping device with the inherent ruggedness and durability to warrant an industry first of "No questions service & repair", should the user ever experience an issue with their PipeSmith product.
