We're putting serious consideration into revisiting the Pathfinder Program.
For those who aren't familiar; the Pathfinder Program is a collective effort of interested participants who each contribute some element of finishing a Legend Series body, results in a very unique finished pipe.
The process would roughly work like this:
The volunteer participants (Group) are determined (4 - 6)
I build a Legend Series body - Group can choose whether it be a straight shank body, or bent shank.
Group determines who receives the body first, as well as the sequence in which each participant works the pipe.
I send the assembled/ tuned/ working pipe body to the Group member determined first work the pipe.
Pipe body passes through each member of the Group and the finish is completed.
Guidelines would be as follows: Participants (Group) are completely voluntary, but must be members of this forum, and current users of a PipeSmith e-pipe.
PipeSmith will build the Legend Series e-pipe body style decided upon by the Group, and will ship it to the first participant.
Each member of the Group will have 10 - 14 days (to be determined) to complete their portion of the work on the pipe body,
then will be responsible for shipping of the pipe to the next member of the Group (this will only be within the CONUS).
The Group determines what is done with the finished pipe body - it can be gifted, it can be given to a member of the Group,
but it must be a decision made by the Group, and the finished pipe cannot be sold.
**Group participation is completely voluntary, and completely without compensation, either expressed or implied***
At any time during the process that pipe may need to return to PipeSmith for tuning, etc., the current Group member holding the pipe body
is responsible for shipping to Colorado Springs, Co.
Guidelines will be updated/ refined if the determination is made to move forward with the program/ PipeSmith retains final approval on all Group participants.
So, PipeSmith family, what are your thoughts?
