Thats quite a project!
One note: The Kayfun V3 Mini is regaarded as a 19mm tank, instead of 22mm, if that may factor into your build.
Good to see you.

Chaps, Just a couple of questions about the stem assembly: The instruction refers to applying a light coat of wax .. what sort of wax is recommended? Just for clarity, is a q-tip a cotton bud? Thanks. Once you have your stem built and finished, I recommend coating the stem with a light pass of Pipe Butter, then buffing. This will help protect the Vulcanite against oxidation caused by UV exposure, and will maintain a nice appearance for your stem. Your Lodge Series Huntsman Package includes a container of Pipe Butter for maintaining your pipe, maintaining your stem, and is the perfect solution to lube all of your atomizer o-rings (a dry o-ring is a ripping, tearing, and leaking o-ring). You will also receive a couple of standard pipe stem cleaners as part of your Taper Bore Stem Kit to help with initial cleaning after the build, as well as continued maintenance cleaning of the stem. Remember that the "Legend Series" bodies are completely assembled, tuned, and ready to use, and will operate just as the "Lodge Series" pipes - you simply have more input into the finished product.
The "Lodge Series" bodies do have a bit of shaping/ surfacing and finish applied, but it's also a great opportunity to drive the working pipe body while determining a particular shaping for the "Legend" body that you may like to undertake.
The "Taper Bore Stem Kits" are about as straight forward as can be, and provide an economical vaping stem solution for the user, and creates a great stem/ atomizer fit, as the build is centered around your atomizer of choice.
I promise you - if you can follow directions thoroughly enough to tie your own shoes, you'll fair just fine with your builds; I set them up that way in order to create a fun and engaging project, while not being too overwhelming.
If you encounter any issue at all, we're only an email away, and the great PipeSmith family here are always interested in following user's builds, offering any help or suggestions they can, or maybe even learning something neat from your build.
You can do it

Ok as promised here are a few photos. Remember I said it was simple, but it is special to me. I didn't put anything on the sides just the front. The symbol is the cattle brand that my dad had registered with the state of Oklahoma back when I was a kid. I grew up on a farm in central Oklahoma and we raised cows, farmed about 40 acres and all the usual stuff that goes along with it. As I grew older and became less interested in the farm my mom and decided that they wanted to work less and enjoy life more. Well mom passed away in 2005 and now dad has dementia. His memory isn't too good any more so he now lives with me and my family. My wife came up with the idea to kind of put together pictures of things he fondly talks about. Well raising cows and farming are often topics he reminisces about. So I started looking for pictures and things to help him with remembering. I searched and searched to get a picture of the cattle brand we had when I was a kid. No luck so I contacted the state Cattlemens Association to see if they could help. Well it took a few weeks but they finally located a copy of the brand registration book from the late sixties. And there it was. I now had a picture and eventually through luck found an old branding iron we used to use. So the symbol on the front of my Challenger has a lot of meaning for me. It is the cattle brand that told everyone who the cows belonged to. So there is no mistake it tells everyone who this pipe belongs too also. A big thanks goes out to Ken the PipeSmith for the pipe and being patient and always offering encouragement when I just kept putting it off because I was so afraid of screwing it up. I hope I didn't disappoint you Ken. Looks like a WIN to me! Good job on that, Gary PS

Those are some real nice looking pipes Ken. I really like the inlay around the button on the KF V5 one. Thanks, Gary - Other than the grafting of the antler into the pipe face, that pipe is "worked" example of the Legend/ Lodge Series pipes - similar to your Burmese Blackwood Huntsman. With a bit of surfacing of the waist & shank added in, this is the goal of the Legend & Lodge Series; a guy can finish out a neat pipe that's truly his own. PS

Had the opportunity to grab current photos of my two (2) personal pipes - A Huntsman running the Kayfun V5, and a Huntsman LTD with slip cover for the V3. Both were re-built to work out the series-respective revised fire buttons for the G4 Fire Kit. More photos here - Matched Huntsman E-PipesPS
